The project extends beyond the building itself to strengthen its relationship with the public realm. New entrance thresholds, a welcoming archway and landscape improvements create a stronger connection to University Square and the emerging western campus. These interventions improve visibility, wayfinding and arrival, transforming a previously overlooked structure into a more active and memorable part of campus life.
Internally, the building has been reconfigured to provide additional academic accommodation alongside a variety of spaces for study, collaboration and informal learning. Flexible learning environments, learning pods and breakout spaces support different modes of working while improving the overall student experience. Enhanced circulation and accessibility improve movement throughout the building, creating a more welcoming and connected environment. Designed as adaptable interventions, many of the external identity elements can be removed and reused in the future, extending the legacy of the project beyond its current setting
