Our 100+ strong team works across studios in Edinburgh, Glasgow, London and Manchester, creating award-winning architecture, urban design and interiors throughout the UK. As a 100% employee-owned practice, every member of our team shares a collective investment in the success of our projects, clients and communities.
Our work spans a diverse range of sectors, including Education, Residential, Masterplanning, Community & Culture, Interiors, Workplace, Hospitality & Retail, Healthcare, Sport and Conservation. From sensitive historic environments and complex phased developments to projects exceeding £100 million in value, we combine creativity, technical expertise and collaborative thinking to deliver meaningful places that enrich communities and stand the test of time.

Matrix tower in Dubai marks practice's growing international reach
2012
Hillhead Primary School wins Grand Prix at the Scottish Design Awards marking a series of award-winning education projects
2013
Ranked first in Urban Realm Top 100 for the first time
2014
AJ100 Building of the Year – Seona Reid Building, Glasgow School of Art (with Steven Holl Architects)
2015
A series of historic listed community, culture and workplace buildings are completed throughout the UK
2017
O’Shea Halls and James Gillespie’s Campus win RIAS awards highlighting a range of award-winning projects delivered in Edinburgh
2019
Practice named Building Design Education Architect of the Year & Gorbals, Health & Wellbeing Centre, wins AJ award
2020
Market Street Hotel completed, contributing to the evolving Edinburgh skyline
2021
Delivery of award-winning social housing projects, St Andrews Drive Phase 1 and Maryhill Locks winning a RIAS award
2024
A series of complex large scale mixed use projects are delivered in Manchester
2025
Transition to an Employee-Owned Trust, marking a new direction for the practice
