Peterhead Community Campus starts on site!

jmarchitects are excited to see works finally get underway at Peterhead Community Campus.

Replacing the existing Peterhead Academy, and designed to accommodate around 1,400 pupils, the campus represents a significant investment in the town’s educational infrastructure and a long-term commitment to improving opportunities for local families. Located off Kinmundy Road, the development will bring together state-of-the-art facilities within a single, carefully planned site that reflects the ambitions of the community it serves. The new building is expected to open its doors in August 2028. The project has been developed with a strong emphasis on sustainability, incorporating contemporary environmental priorities, energy-efficient design, and modern building materials to ensure a low-carbon, future-proof facility.

Beyond the main building, the outdoor facilities will further enhance opportunities for sport, recreation, and community involvement. The campus grounds will feature new sports pitches suitable for a variety of team games, along with an all-weather running track that can be used year-round. These facilities are expected to benefit not only the school’s curricular and extra-curricular programmes but also the wider community, helping establish the campus as a key local asset.
