Celebrating Glasgow’s Evolving Skyline: jmarchitects Feature in New Aerial Publication

We are delighted to announce that jmarchitects are featured in Glasgow From Above, a striking new publication by architect and academic Rosalie Menon and photographer Alistair Leith. Through a collection of compelling aerial images, the book offers a unique perspective on the city’s architecture, infrastructure, and urban landscape, capturing Glasgow’s transformation in the 21st century from above.

Several jmarchitects projects are included, showcasing the breadth of our work across all corners of the city – from cultural landmarks to housing, education, and public realm.

Among the featured work is St Andrew’s Drive in Pollokshields, delivered for Southside Housing Association. The project forms part of a wider area regeneration and introduces a series of carefully planned Urban Villas, replacing outdated 1960s housing with a contemporary, energy-efficient development that strengthens the character of the neighbourhood and supports a renewed sense of community.

Also included are Maryhill Burgh Halls, where sensitive restoration brought renewed purpose to an important civic landmark; and Maryhill Locks, a residential development that responds to the landscape of the canal corridor while contributing to the area’s ongoing regeneration.

At Cunningar Loop, The Tur – a dynamic, spiralling viewing platform – rises through the treetops to offer wide-reaching views across the East End. In addition to its feature in the book, Alistair Leith has generously shared new drone footage capturing the Tur in context, showing how the gently ramping form weaves its way up through the canopy and integrates with the surrounding woodland.

The Reid Building at The Glasgow School of Art is also featured. Delivered in collaboration with Steven Holl Architects, the building provides flexible, light-filled spaces for creative learning and stands as a key architectural statement in Garnethill.

Glasgow From Above offers a new way of seeing the city, revealing patterns, relationships, and moments of urbanity that often go unnoticed from the ground. We’re proud to have our work featured in this visual narrative of a city in transition.
