Helping Young People Discover Career Pathways: jmarchitects Support Local Careers Event

jmarchitects were delighted to take part in an interactive careers event for senior phase pupils from schools across Glasgow, introducing young people to architecture and offering an insight into life in practice.

Hosted at the University of Glasgow and bringing together around 60 pupils and employers from a range of industries, the event gave students the opportunity to rotate between tables, meet professionals, ask questions and discover different career paths.

Our team shared an insight into what it means to be an architect, using drawings, models and examples of our work to demonstrate the different skills involved, from creative thinking and problem-solving to communication, collaboration and designing for people and communities.

It was a great opportunity to have open and informal conversations with the next generation and hopefully inspire some future architects along the way.
