Exciting progress at the Benwell Dene development in Newcastle, where the first residential blocks are nearing completion.

Benwell Dene is a major new residential development being delivered for Placefirst in Newcastle's West End. The scheme is transforming a long-vacant brownfield site into a vibrant new neighbourhood, providing 146 high-quality homes for long-term rent, together with community facilities and extensive landscaped public spaces. The development includes a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes designed to support a wide range of residents and families.
A significant milestone is now being reached, with Blocks 10 and 12, including the new Placefirst Hub, scheduled for handover at the end of July. This marks the first phase of completion on a project that has focused on creating a sustainable, community-led neighbourhood.
The homes have been designed with energy efficiency in mind, incorporating features such as air source heat pumps, solar panels and high-performance building fabric to help reduce energy consumption and running costs for residents. The wider development also includes green spaces, pedestrian routes and community-focused amenities that will contribute to the long-term success of the neighbourhood.
