Welcome back, Thomas!

We are thrilled to announce the return of Thomas Whiting to jmarchitects, this time as a Part II Architectural Assistant.

Thomas originally joined our Glasgow studio in 2021 in the role of Part I Architectural Assistant, and we are absolutely delighted to have him back with us.

It’s fantastic to have you back, Thomas!

We asked Thomas a few questions to get to know him better and this is what he said…

Who has been most influential on your work or work style?

“Recently I have been really interested in the work of the now disbanded Belgian architects Advvt. Their work embodies a curiosity for construction & an attitude of frugality which they have translated into their own architectural language.”

 Where did you study and why did you choose that place?

“I studied at the Glasgow School of Art as I liked the feel of the studio culture and being part of the Art School.”

 What would your superpower be?

“Superspeed - there never seems to be enough hours in the day so getting things done 10x as fast would be ideal!”
