Tweedbank Community provides feedback for new Care Village

Great attendance, thoughtful comments, and an excited response from attendees at our first community engagement session for the new care village in Tweedbank. The second drop-in session will be held on the 25th of September 4-8pm. Further details can be found here.

The new care village will provide 60 bedrooms and amenity facilities which support independent and small-group living and promote social inclusion in a safe, secure and non-institutional environment for residents and staff.  The wider estate landscape with mature trees and pond will provide a spectacular setting for the village and allow opportunities for walking, growing and social interaction between residents and the community.

The development is currently in the pre-planning stage and these drop-in sessions have been organised to give the public the opportunity to provide feedback and inform the designs prior to the plans being formally submitted to the Planning Department.

Councillor David Parker, Executive Member for Health and Wellbeing said: “This is an important milestone in our plans for the development of the Tweedbank Care Village and I would encourage anyone with an interest in the project to drop into one of the sessions. It’s an ideal opportunity for people to see that progress that is being made and speak to us about the proposed designs and next steps for the project.”
