One Month On: Celebrating a Major Milestone for Tweedbank Care Village

Tweedbank Care Village celebrated a key milestone one month ago — a moment that reflects the dedication and teamwork driving this project forward.

The day began with a drop-in public engagement session and stakeholder event, where detailed plans were displayed alongside the latest innovations in care technology. Local primary school pupils were also invited to learn more about careers in the care sector — and they certainly kept the Scottish Borders Council team on their toes with some thoughtful and challenging questions!

The day’s proceedings culminated in the highly anticipated ground-breaking ceremony. Project Director Yunming Thomson joined representatives from Scottish Borders Council, Hub South East, and Ogilvie Construction Ltd to gather on site and shovels ready, marking this significant step forward for the project.

The new Tweedbank Care Village aims to redefine dementia care delivery in the Scottish Borders through small-group living, social inclusion, and a safe, welcoming, non-institutional environment. We’re proud to be moving forward in partnership with Scottish Borders Council and our project partners — and we look forward to the next key milestones that will bring this inspiring vision to life.
