The more conversations we have, the better life is for everyone. Talking about mental health isn’t always easy and sometimes it’s even harder to say how you really feel. But a conversation has the power to change lives.
On Thursday 1st of February, jmarchitects actively participated in Time to Talk Day for the second consecutive year.
Time to Talk Day, organised by Mind and Rethink Mental Illness Charities, presents a valuable opportunity for all of our staff to come together and foster supportive, open connections with colleagues. Recognising that everyone has mental health, this day encourages conversations that not only support ourselves but also extends that support to others.
The significance of discussing mental health arises from the fact that 1 in 4 individuals will face a mental health challenge in any given year. Engaging in these conversations contributes to breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health, cultivating supportive communities where open discussions around mental wellbeing thrive, empowering individuals to seek help when it is needed.
To facilitate this important day, we allocated some time for staff to step away from their screens, connect with others, and share their experiences. Additionally, a breakfast spread of pastries were provided in each studio for everyone, further enhancing the sense of community during this meaningful event.
To further support our staff, we would like to remind you that we have a team of qualified mental health first aiders who are available to offer non-judgemental help and advice. Together, we can tackle mental health stigma!
