Construction starts for New Primary School in Dargavel – Thistle Primary School!

jmarchitects are excited to reach the next milestone on Thistle Primary School in Dargavel with construction beginning on site. jmarchitects, have been working hard with the design team on behalf of Renfrewshire Council, Hub West Scotland and BAM UK & Ireland to develop the design of Thistle Primary School which was granted planning back in March this year. We are now pleased to say that we have reached another exciting milestone with initial construction works now under way. BAM UK & Ireland have begun foundation and substructure works for Thistle Primary School which is the first stage of the construction of the three-storey primary school for around 800 pupils within the Dargavel Village Masterplan. Construction will continue throughout next year and onto 2027 with the school programmed to open for August 2027. As well as being a modern, inclusive primary education facility, Thistle Primary School will offer a 3G pitch and indoor sports spaces for use within Dargavel Village which aims to develop a close relationship between pupils, parents, carers, teachers and the members of the community. “This is an exciting milestone for Thistle Primary School, the new primary school within the Dargavel Village Masterplan.
