The future of the school is as strong as steel!

Newhouse Academy is taking shape and form as the steel structure is almost at completion. We also had a sneaky look at the precast concrete staircase. 

The existing school is made up of several blocks that vary in condition and generally have exceeded their life expectancy and have been recommended for demolition. Since the “Boomerang” building is relative a new building, the proposal is to retain and refurbish the Boomerang in certain areas with a new building being incorporated into the area of the existing building that has been demolished.  The proposed building is designed to achieve net zero carbon taking a sustainable approach in our design by choosing high performance materials for the building. The new building will incorporate a four-court sports hall, PE store, activity studio, drama studio, main hall, changing rooms, construction and design technology workshops, a dining hall, science labs, and other related spaces.
