We are absolutely over the moon to announce that our projects St Andrew’s Drive, Phases 2 & 3; Easthouses Primary School; Montgomerie Park Primary School and PLATFORM_, Edinburgh have been selected as Finalists at the Scottish Property Awards!
St Andrew’s Drive, Phases 2 & 3 – Regeneration
St Andrew’s Drive Phases 2 and 3 are the concluding phases of a landscape-led approach to creating a development driven by the principles of NPF4. Amongst the projects’ key objectives was to integrate a mixed tenure social and affordable housing development into the adjacent Pollokshields West conservation area. Preserving existing trees was a key strategy whilst providing a series of urban villas set in a series of gardens that provide a holistic living environment for its residents. The project seeks to extend the sense of place of the neighbourhood into the new masterplan and knit the community together.
Easthouses Primary School – Architectural Excellence (Public) & Development of the Year (Public)
The new Easthouses Primary School, designed by jmarchitects and constructed by Morrison Construction for Midlothian Council in collaboration with Hub South East, is a state-of-the-art learning facility for early years, primary school and ASN users situated around a shared learning courtyard that puts outdoor learning, biophilic design and sustainability at the heart of its educational agenda.
Montgomerie Park Primary School – Development of the Year (Public) & Net Zero Development of the Year
Montgomerie Park Primary School is the first school designed to Passivhaus standards for North Ayrshire Council, accommodating 342 primary pupils and 47 early years children, and is a pathfinder for the delivery of facilities dedicated to sustainability, net-zero carbon, and the educational needs of tomorrow. The new school supports the currently developing Montgomerie Park masterplan area, and adjacent existing residential area of Knadgerhill, north-east of Irvine town centre.
PLATFORM_, Edinburgh – Built to Rent Development of the Year
PLATFORM_ in Edinburgh is a landmark for Edinburgh as the only new BTR to launch in the city this year, providing further sensitive regeneration to the Bonnington area. Projects of this size and complexity can’t be achieved successfully without the dedication of the jmarchitects team and collaboration with our main contractor, GRAHAM and their subcontractors, as well as our design team partners, clients and funders.
