We’re thrilled to see that our submission to the Royal Scottish Academy has been selected for the RSA’s landmark 200th Annual Exhibition this Spring in Edinburgh.
It’s an honour to be included in such a historic moment for the RSA, especially in a year that celebrates two centuries of artistic innovation and creative excellence. The exhibition brings together an inspiring mix of contemporary art and architecture from across Scotland and beyond, and we’re proud to be part of it.
Architect Paul Smith and Architectural Assistant Robyn who led the submission attended the exhibition opening on Friday.
This year’s exhibition speculates on the “unbuilt”. Our submission is a speculative housing study developed in response to the unbuilt Scotswood Expo RIBA Competition in Newcastle’s West End. Working through a physical model, the project rethinks the terrace as a flexible framework for contemporary living. It explores how bays, shared thresholds, and courtyards can reshape the relationship between home, street, and community - creating space for adaptability, sustainability, and everyday social life.
