jmarchitects take part in academic-industry collab with Robert Gordon University

Magdalena Blazusiak has recently taken part in discussions on sustainable retrofit and benchmarking of deliverables with RGU Architectural Technology students. At jmarchitects we are proud to support academic-industry collaboration through engagement and support for students in their journey to become part of our professional family.

Magdalena, from our Edinburgh studio, visited the Stage 3 Architectural Technology students at RGU back in February to discuss their retrofit studio projects. Discussions revolved around gaining better understanding of the processes and challenges in retrofit project, importance of environmental benchmarking and balance between renewable energy sources, fabric first approach and carbon load of selected materials and technologies. It was a great opportunity to share the knowledge and experience from some of our live Passivhaus projects!

We understand that knowledge sharing is a key aspect of achieving sustainable outcomes. It is also a great privilege to engage in partnerships to promote practice-based learning and provide industry insight for the future generations of architectural professionals.
