jmarchitects are very excited to share that our project, PLATFORM_ in Edinburgh has been nominated for this year’s prestigious Scottish Design Awards. A huge congratulations to the entire team! Let’s learn a little more about our shortlisted project:
PLATFORM_ in Edinburgh, is a jmarchitects designed and delivered residential project in Bonnington which provides exciting regeneration and brings a modern intervention to a historic context. The project addressed the varied constraints and opportunities of the site, its importance within the area, and the connection to the Water of Leith.
It is a large Build-to-Rent residential development consisting of four hundred and sixty-four apartments comprising of studios, one, two and three bedrooms. There are areas of communal amenity such as working from home, lounges, gym, yoga room, family room and a café. Private open space provision comprises of three Courtyards, the woodland ecological area and three roof terraces in a mixture of hard and soft finishes. A Public open space is provided to the north-west of the site in the form of a pocket park.
