Planning approval for ‘The Lantern’ Solihull!

Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council have approved planning permission for Winston Group to build a new 11 storey residential development. Working alongside jmarchitects, Winston Group will build the high-quality town centre apartments in a unique location within Solihull.

The Station Road site looks to demolish part of the existing parade and replace it with a new 11 storey mixed use development complete with new ground floor retail, residents only facilities and roof garden.

The proposal will provide significant economic, social, and environmental benefits, with a more efficient use of the existing brownfield site to protect Green Belt land by increasing housing density in the town centre. 

The highly accessible location will provide 50 new private rented homes close to the town centre encouraging new residents to utilise local amenities and public transport, creating a highly sustainable, car-free development.

The Lantern will also deliver new ground floor commercial spaces increasing activity and footfall along Station Road, giving a boost to the local economy while creating a new distinctive landmark development of exemplar design quality, acting as a gateway into the heart of the Town Centre.
