Planning Approval Secured for Alloa Wellbeing Hub and Lochies School

A major milestone achieved! Planning permission has been granted for the Alloa Wellbeing Hub and Lochies School, marking an important step towards delivering this transformative facility for the Clackmannanshire community.

We are absolutely delighted that the Alloa Wellbeing Hub and Lochies School has received planning approval, paving the way for a pioneering development that will integrate specialist education, health, and wellbeing services under one roof.

The Wellbeing Hub will offer a six-lane swimming pool, a hydrotherapy pool, a fitness suite, and flexible community spaces, promoting inclusivity and active lifestyles for people of all ages. Alongside this, the new facility will provide a state-of-the-art learning environment for Lochies School, supporting pupils with severe and complex needs.

The external spaces have been designed to maximise accessibility and outdoor learning, featuring a community courtyard, green spaces, and dedicated areas for physical activity. Terraced landscaping, walking & cycling routes, and outdoor seating enhance wellbeing, while biodiversity improvements create a sustainable and inclusive environment for all users.

Designed with sustainability and accessibility at its core, the project prioritises Passivhaus principles, ensuring high energy efficiency and long-term environmental benefits.
