Major Milestone Reached in Peterhead Community Campus Project

Exciting progress! We recently submitted the planning application for the Peterhead Community Campus – a huge milestone in making this project a reality.

The new Peterhead Academy, part of the revised community campus project, is designed to deliver a modern, inspiring learning environment for young people. Located off of Kinmundy Road, construction is due to commence in spring next year, with the Academy due to open in August 2028. It will provide state-of-the-art facilities that reflect both educational needs and environmental priorities.

Inside, pupils will have access to a wide range of specialist spaces, including fully equipped science laboratories, music and art studios, sports halls, and a central “learning plaza” designed to encourage collaboration and flexible study. The layout has been created with accessibility and modern teaching in mind, giving students and staff room to thrive.

Outdoors, the campus will offer new sports pitches and an all-weather running track, supporting both physical education and wider community use.

A decision on the planning application is expected later this year.
