On the 9th day to Christmas, jmarchitects gave to thee… a hub for innovation and sustainability!

This year saw the completion of the James Hutton Institute’s Just Transition Hub, recently revealed during its first public event. The redesigned lower floors of the Craigiebuckler campus now offer an open, welcoming space that supports collaboration, training, and climate‑focused innovation.

Funded by the Scottish Government’s Just Transition Fund, the Hub features an open science café, conference rooms, a podcasting suite, and an immersive VR space - all designed with biophilic principles, re‑use strategies, and flexible layouts to support the Institute’s Open Campus Approach.

We’re proud to see the Hub beginning its journey and look forward to showing you more in the new year!
