On the 2nd day to Christmas jmarchitects gave to thee… Two Healthcare Havens

Today we’re celebrating two healthcare projects delivered by our team this year — each designed with wellbeing at the centre and carefully phased to minimise disruption.

Alongside the refurbishment of Newton Community Hospital, which delivered additional inpatient beds and a new physiotherapy ward, our team also completed the transformation of Nightingale House — highlighted below.

At Nightingale House in Wandsworth, we completed the refurbishment of the Wohl Wing end-of-life care ward. Here, thoughtful design choices were made to support residents and families: dementia-friendly layouts, welcoming lounges, sensory rooms, and indoor features were also made using repurposed parts of the existing building. The result is a space that feels both comfortable and contemporary, blending high-end residential design with the practical needs of healthcare.
