jmarchitects supports Men’s Health Month (Movember) 2024
It’s that time of year again to recognise some pretty impressive moustaches all in the name of Movember. Whilst many are aware of the annual campaign to raise awareness about men’s physical health issues such as prostate and testicular cancer, did you know it also includes men’s mental wellbeing and suicide prevention?

It’s that time of year again to recognise some pretty impressive moustaches all in the name of Movember. Whilst many are aware of the annual campaign to raise awareness about men’s physical health issues such as prostate and testicular cancer, did you know it also includes men’s mental wellbeing and suicide prevention?
The month-long initiative provides a platform for men to discuss their health openly; break the stigma of masculinity and challenge stereotypes; seek support and proactively take control of their physical and mental health by promoting healthier lifestyle choices and regular medical check-ups which could offer prevention or early detection of potential health concerns.
Mates in Mind, a UK charity working to raise awareness and address the stigma of poor mental health in the workplace, have highlighted some staggering statistics regarding mental health among males across the UK. In particular, 4 in 5 suicides are by men, with suicide being the biggest cause of death for men under the age of 35.
