In advance of the Learning Places Scotland Awards, taking place on 18th November, we are shining a spotlight on Montgomerie Park Primary School, which has been shortlisted in the Project of the Year, and Innovation in Delivering a Sustainable Learning Space categories!
Montgomerie Park Primary School is a new non-denominational primary school for 342 pupils with a dedicated early learning and childcare facility for 47 children. The new school supports the growing Montgomerie Park masterplan and adjacent existing residential areas in Irvine.
The new primary school comprises of 12 classrooms, early learning facilities, General purpose rooms, a gymnasium incorporating flexible performance areas, dining facilities and outdoor learning spaces. The landscape design embraced the existing challenging topography to provide a variety of external learning spaces including a nature garden, production garden with poly tunnel, outdoor classroom/amphitheatre, woodland/nature learning, a bird hide overlooking the existing SUDs pond, and a 3G sports pitch.
