Four Teams, One Challenge: jmarchitects Steps into Summer 2026✨
At jmarchitects, collaboration extends far beyond the projects we deliver. Over recent weeks, colleagues from our Edinburgh & Glasgow offices came together to participate in the Women in Property Step into Summer Challenge 2026, embracing some healthy competition while supporting two inspiring charities: Women in Sport and Smart Works.

This year, the challenge saw four jmarchitects teams take to the virtual route, collectively logging thousands of steps as they journeyed across a digital map of the United States, visiting famous landmarks and iconic destinations along the way. From morning walks and lunchtime strolls to evening runs and weekend hikes, every step contributed to a shared goal and a fantastic team effort.
One of our teams, Form Follows Footsteps, achieved an impressive finish within the top 20 of the challenge standings whilst Niamh McPhee came in the top 20 individually, demonstrating the commitment and enthusiasm shown across the practice. However, the real success was seeing all four teams consistently encouraging each other, sharing progress updates and celebrating milestones together.
The annual Step into Summer Challenge is designed to promote physical and mental wellbeing while raising awareness for important causes. Participants across the property and construction industry collectively travelled an extraordinary distance during the challenge, with millions of steps contributing towards the virtual journey.
