Planning Permission for Inspire Academy!

We are delighted to announce that we have now received Planning Permission for this exciting project for a new SEND school in Gillingham, Kent. As architects, we are working with the contractors, ISG, to develop this DfE funded project, which is planned to start on site later in 2024.

The project is for a new school for special needs pupils to be built on a green field site bounded by busy roads on two sides. It is being developed to replace an existing school forming part of the Parallel Learning Trust and will address the severe shortage of SEMH and ASD places in the area.

The design of the school is based around the need to provide a separate self-contained learning environment for the two cohorts, while enabling them to share the sports and specialist teaching facilities as well as the dining and assembly halls.

The scheme is designed to enable facilities to be shared with the local community and to provide a building that will be net zero carbon in operation.
