Ian Alexander led a guided tour of the Bothy & Tùr for the Glasgow Institute of Architects

We had a thoroughly enjoyable visit to the award-winning Bothy and Tùr at Cuningar Loop with Clyde Gateway and Glasgow Institute of Architects, discussing how the project and its design supports the community and responds to its unique woodland context.

The visitors were hosted in The Bothy by Martin McKay, Chief Executive of Clyde Gateway, who explained the role of the project that is set within the Cuningar Loop Woodland and the wider work of Clyde Gateway in the Dalmarnock area.

Ian Alexander, Design Director with jmarchitects Glasgow Studio then described the ideas behind the project which resulted in a lively discussion amongst the visitors. The group then walked through the park and ascended to the viewing platform of the Tùr to take in the views of the park and city beyond.

The project is currently shortlisted for a number of awards including BD Architect of the Year Award and AJ Architecture Awards and recently picked up the Silver Award for Public Building at the Scottish Design Awards.
