Forres Academy submitted for planning!

We are delighted to announce that proposals for the replacement Forres Academy have been submitted for planning approval.

The replacement Forres Academy project, for Moray Council, will deliver a new 12,126m2 building for 1120 pupils in the heart of the town. Designed to accommodate 1080 secondary pupils with an enhanced provision for 40 pupils, the proposed facility will collocate the new building with the existing Applegrove Primary School in the centre of Forres; creating a new 5-18 community shared campus and providing enhanced learning and teaching opportunities for the pupils and staff of both schools.

The project, a recipient of SFT LEIP 3 funding, will be delivered as part of the Hub North Scotland’s ‘North Schools Programme’ a unique collaboration between five local authorities to deliver a programme of eight new, refurbished and extended school in the northern territories of Scotland. Balfour Beatty are the preferred main contractor and they have been working closely with jmarchitects and the wider design team on the development of the proposals to date.
