Progress on site at Fettlers in Wigan!

It was a cold and fresh start to the day over in Wigan, but it is always a pleasure to check-in on the site progress at the Fettlers development.

If you have been in Wigan Town Centre recently you would have witnessed the steel frame of the New Market Hall being erected, this is now 85% complete and to concluded in the coming weeks. We are very excited to see the striking building form emerge, in particular the double/triple height spaces it creates internally. Façade cladding will start in earnest in the coming months which will further define the eye-catching sawtooth roof scape. We can’t wait for the New Market Hall to be open by the end of this year!

Works to the Hotel and Phase 1 of the Basement are also full steam ahead. The contig retaining wall and capping beam of the Basement is now complete with foundations works now being undertaken. The slip form rig is now on site with works currently being undertaken to the Hotel’s circulation cores, during the course of January the rig will rise six stories thus defining the overall height of the Hotel.
