Keith & Doug are presenting at Education Buildings Forum Scotland!

jmarchitects own Keith Wilkinson and Doug Tullie are excited to be presenting at Education Buildings Forum Scotland next week Cameron House, Loch Lomond!

Doug will be presenting ‘Learning Spaces for a Digital Future' on Tuesday 28th of February at 3.10pm.

The digital learning environment, and its role in preparing learners for a future where digital skills are increasingly important, is central to current education.

The presentation looks at the role this digital learning environment has had in influencing and shaping the design of physical learning spaces. Something which has been explored with Scottish Borders Council and their Inspire Learning programme through the design of Galashiels Community Campus, as well as other projects within their estate.

Ultimately, aiming to create learning spaces which are engaging, adaptable and inspirational for current and future teachers and learners alike.

Keith will be presenting 'Using BIM Technology to Assess Embodied Carbon at the Design Stage' on Wednesday 1st of March at 10.50am

 As we move into an era of strict energy targets to try and combat the climate crisis the challenge of analysing embodied carbon has come to the fore.

 We will look at how we use BIM technology to assess this at the design stage and consider the challenges that the industry faces delivering this information using Autodesk Revit coupled with the analysis package OneClick LCA.

We will also discuss the challenges in terms of availability of information and how we are working within the limitations of digital technology to develop robust workflows to make this process as reliable as possible.
