Dollar Academy’s New Sports Pavilion Reaches Planning Milestone

An exciting new chapter for sport at Dollar Academy is taking shape, with plans for new sports pitches and a welcoming community pavilion now submitted to Clackmannanshire Council.

More than a place to change before a match, Dollar Academy’s proposed sports pavilion is designed as a lively community hub where sport, learning and social activity come together. Set beside new synthetic pitches, it will create a welcoming focal point for pupils, local clubs, schools and community groups - from everyday training sessions to match - day events.

The proposal marks the first phase of the wider masterplan approved in 2018. Alongside the pavilion, it includes synthetic pitches, sports lighting, parking and improved pedestrian links to Dollar and the surrounding area - creating facilities intended to benefit both the Academy and the wider community.

Inclusivity sits at the heart of the design. Accessible changing facilities, a clear and welcoming entrance, flexible social spaces and dedicated areas for spectators will support changing, socialising, learning and small events throughout the year.

Inspired by Clackmannanshire’s materials, history and character, the architecture is grounded in its landscape. Covered viewing terraces and generous glazed openings will connect the pavilion visually and physically with the pitches, putting the action - and the community - at the centre.
