Planning Submitted for the new primary school in Dargavel

jmarchitects have submitted planning permission on behalf of Hub West Scotland and Renfrewshire Council for the design of a new primary school within the Dargavel Village masterplan.

The design team’s approach is based on a landscape-led design and a carefully developed environmentally sustainable design strategy which aims to establish a place first ethos as the key driving force.

The new school will provide a modern, safe and inclusive learning environment for 800 pupils within an integrated site comprising of a full size 3G pitch, parking and drop-off zones for staff, parents and visitors and external learning and play spaces. The school will also offer flexible facilities to cater to the wider community following a thorough community engagement period where feedback was collated and considered within the design. The new school aims to encourage and promote a much closer relationship between teachers and learners, and the community of parents, carers and community groups.
