Construction advancing on site at Thistle Primary School!

jmarchitects are delighted that construction has continued at pace on Thistle Primary School with the steel frame assembling on site.

Following the initial groundworks taking place, BAM construction in partnership with Hub West Scotland have progressed with the construction of the new Thistle Primary School with the steel frame now being assembled on site. The footprint and massing of the school is now notable on site with visibility of the school from around the Dargavel Village, including from the north bounding Central Park.

We were most delighted to see the school taking shape as the backdrop to some wonderful artwork by Jessica from Dargavel Primary School, welcoming visitors to the Central Park. We are excited to see how this new school contributes to an already thriving and embraced local community.

Once complete, Thistle primary school will be a three-storey primary school for around 800 pupils within the Dargavel Village Masterplan. The school has been designed with a landscape-lead approach to encourage outdoor activities within the school and community through a variety of external play and learning places, a 3G pitch and community garden.
