We are delighted to announce that our community café for the Scottish Centre for Personal Safety has been submitted to planning, which is to be delivered as part of the North Ayrshire Council community benefits programme.
The Scottish Centre for Personal Safety was founded by Volunteer Manager, Alan Bell, with the aim of potentially saving lives by preventing and reducing violence and the fear of violence; and to empower individuals to manage safer lives. Their work specialises in providing personal safety courses for survivors of violence and people within the community.
The addition of a community café space to their premises will allow activities to expand, providing a safe space for victims and the wider community of marginalised people in the heart of Ardrossan.
Alan was recently awarded an MBE for his services to vulnerable people, and we are truly humbled by the opportunity to support such a valuable asset to the local community.
