New Clackmannanshire Wellbeing Hub and Lochies School submitted for Planning

jmarchitects are delighted to announce that a major milestone has been reached in this key project for Clackmannanshire Council with the submission of a full Planning Application.

The project combines a replacement Lochies School for learners with severe and complex additional support needs with a highly accessible leisure and wellbeing centre, providing a unique opportunity for the sharing of specialist facilities.

The combined design team of jmarchitects, Baker Hicks, Rankin Fraser, EDCA and Blyth and Blyth have supported Robertson Construction to develop a distinctive building for the Client Team of Clacks Council, Hub East Central and Thomas & Adamson.

Located on a spectacular site to the west side of Alloa, this new facility for Clackmannanshire will create a place where the whole community feels welcome and where inclusivity, equity and accessibility are central to the design concept.  The Hub looks to break down health inequalities by providing leisure and wellbeing facilities that respond to the diversities and specific needs of the community. The building is aiming for Passivhaus Certification, a goal which aligns with the Scottish Governments LEIP ambitions and Clackmannanshire’s Climate Change Strategy.
