Exciting news for Causewayside!

We are pleased to announce that our designs for a new student accommodation at Causewayside have been submitted for planning.

The project brief targets the development of a new purpose-built student residence at 140 Causewayside, in response to the growing demand for student accommodation within Edinburgh.

To achieve this, the existing vacant building is proposed to be demolished in order to create 174 bed spaces, comprising a mix of various cluster rooms, studios, and accessible studios and high quality internal and external amenity space. This diverse offering of different room types aims to appeal to the varying needs of potential occupants.

A key aspect of the brief is for the new building and accompanying landscape proposals to respectfully integrate into the surrounding context. Retaining and enhancing key features of the site, whilst creating high quality accommodation and outdoor amenity spaces.

Additional positive aspects are being targeted through the development - such as the creation of an active street frontage and improved biodiversity through its considered landscape design.

The emerging proposals take cognisance of the surrounding conservation areas and listed buildings and seek to create a development which is contextually appropriate.
