We are thrilled to share that St Andrews Drive Phases 2 & 3 has received a Commendation in the Large Housing Development category at the Brick Awards 2025!
Held in London on 5th November, the Brick Awards celebrate exemplary use of clay brick in architecture and design — so we are delighted to see this transformative project recognised among the industry’s very best.
Delivered by jmarchitects for Southside Housing Association, St Andrews Drive reimagines a deteriorating post-war estate in Pollokshields, Glasgow as a connected and characterful residential neighbourhood. The masterplan prioritises people, placemaking and landscape, drawing influence from the surrounding Victorian suburb with its sandstone villas, mature trees and generous green spaces.
Thoughtful brickwork is at the heart of the design approach. Precast lintels, stringer courses and recessed panels introduce depth, detail and craftsmanship; while the warm tonal palette of clay brick roots the new homes in their context, contributing to a calm, cohesive streetscape. The result is architecture that supports community, enhances quality of life, and feels truly at home within Pollokshields.
