Steel Frame goes up at Blindwells and Craighall Primary Schools!

jmarchitects are so excited to see the steel frame for both schools being erected on site! The size and scale of the projects are now visible and how the schools will sit within the sites can also be appreciated. Works are progressing at pace on site at Blindwells and Craighall Primary schools, designed by jmarchitects and being delivered by Balfour Beatty Construction and Hub South East for East Lothian Council. The projects comprise of two identical, new-build primary schools within their respective residential masterplan developments which are now well underway. The designs respond to and reflect the masterplans’ wider aspirations including site strategies which encourage greener travel routes for pupils and the new buildings are intended to act as focal points for their respective new communities. The erection of the steel frame marks another milestone in the construction process. Drainage works are now well advanced with foundations completed across both sites. Construction of these two new primary schools, both part of masterplan developments being built in East Lothian, began in February 2024 and completion date set for both projects is Spring 2025.
