Site Start for Blindwells Primary School and Craighall Primary School!

We are pleased to announce that two new primary schools for East Lothian Council will be starting on site at the beginning of February for completion in late Spring 2025.

An experienced team comprising of development partner Hub South East, main contractor Balfour Beatty, Goodson Associates, Rybka, Rankin Fraser Landscape Architecture, Doig + Smith, Atelier Ten and Sandy Brown have developed a concept alongside East Lothian Council to deliver two new exciting, modern and sustainable learning environments.

The primary schools are both sited at the heart of East Lothian’s newest towns Blindwells and Craighall; they will play a key role in forming a successful and vibrant neighbourhood for their respective new communities. Each school will provide accommodation for up to 420 learners with early learning and childcare centres offering 100 places for 2-5 years olds.

The designs deliver simple, compact, and highly efficient building forms comprising a central dining space and double gym hall enclosed by a two storey wrap of learning, teaching and support accommodation, each school has also been designed to be easily extendable should the surrounding residential development demand it.
