Colleagues participated in the ASICS ‘Desk Break Challenge’ during the month of November by taking regular movement breaks away from our desks to benefit our mental and physical health.

jmarchitects recognise the importance of supporting colleagues to prioritise their mental health at work. The ASICS campaign outlined that just 15 minutes of movement a day can help reverse the effects of poor physical and mental health and improve our overall wellbeing.

Through the “Desk Break Challenge,” staff members were also encouraged to participate in the social media aspect of the challenge which involved taking a break from their desk each day to move and share an image of their empty desk with #DeskBreak and #jmarchitects on social media. Every image shared with the relevant sticker and hashtags raised £5 for the mental health charity Mind as part of the campaign.

jmarchitects were thrilled to take part in the ‘Desk Break Challenge’ and continue to recognise the importance of mental health at work. At jmarchitects we have qualified Mental Health First Aiders and a dedicated jmcare group within the practice who are always available and can be approached in confidence.
