Alexander Graham Bell Centre for Digital Health Celebrates 10th Anniversary

We were delighted to be invited by UHI Moray to attend their ten-year anniversary event for the Alexander Graham Bell Centre in Elgin!

Officially opened in 2014 by The Princess Royal, The Alexander Graham Bell Centre for Digital Health extended the existing UHI Moray campus with a sympathetically designed building to provide a new accessible and welcoming main entrance, conference room, additional classrooms, NHS training spaces and lettable offices for SMEs. The Centre also now links the Grade B listed, former Elgin Academy building which fronts onto Moray Street, into the wider campus.

It was fantastic to hear from David Patterson (Principal) and Jacqui Taylor (Head of Marketing) about the benefits that these facilities have delivered for UHI Moray, the NHS and the wider community over the past 10 years as well as from Professor Grant Cumming who spoke about Alexander Graham Bell and why is it so appropriate that the building is named in his honour.

It is always interesting to observe how, in reality, the building users are occupying the spaces and compare this to discussion about intended use during the design process – in this case the two are reassuringly similar!”
