On the 4th day of Christmas, jmarchitects gave to Galashiels… FOUR hundred and sixty five cubic metres of coffee fuelled creativity! 🎄☕

We’ve crunched the numbers, and the new swimming pool at the Galashiels Community Campus holds around 465 cubic metres of water — that’s about 1,550,000 cups of coffee.

For our team to match that, we’d each need to get through 60 cups a day for a full year. Even by architectural standards, that’s a stretch. So while we won’t be filling the pool ourselves, coffee has been a reliable partner in fuelling our creativity across the practice — and we’re fairly sure we’ve consumed enough caffeine this year to justify a latte‑flavoured lane at least.

Humour aside, the Galashiels Community Campus is going to be open to pupils, staff and the community at the beginning of 2026, bringing together modern learning spaces, specialist ASN facilities, community sports amenities, and a revitalised Scott Park. The result is a welcoming, inclusive campus designed around ultra‑low‑energy principles and shaped through meaningful engagement with the local community.
