Worship Square completes!

We are proud to have been Architects on the delivery of this zero carbon and wellbeing-focused workspace at Worship Square, Shoreditch for HB Reavis and equally excited to see the commencement of the cutting-edge, flexible fitouts that are being carried out for tenants Frontier Economics and Wise.

Worship Square is a next generation, net zero carbon (in both construction and operation) office and retail building and sets the standard for contemporary, flexible, sustainable workspace. It lies in the South Shoreditch Conservation Area and replaces two office buildings Quick and Tower House built in 1988 and 1992 respectively.

The building provides a full range of workspace options including traditional “cat a”, managed “ready to work” self-contained fully fitted workspace, co-working and affordable workspaces, meeting rooms, event spaces along with purpose-built auditorium.

Worship Square has been delivered by using less than 450 kgCO2/m2 of upfront carbon – making it one of the lowest embodied carbon developments of its kind in the UK and 50% lower than the LETI baseline target for new construction.

The building has either achieved or in anticipation of the building being occupied is targeting full net zero carbon status, BREEAM Outstanding, EPC Rating A, WELL Platinum, SmartsScore Platinum, WiredScore Platinum and is designed to be NABERS 5.5* and use less than 49 kwph/m2 which is 10% less than the 2030 UKGBC target.

It promotes employee wellbeing, including a fitness studio, private and communal landscaped terraces and state-of-the-art end-of-journey amenities.

Incorporating principles of biophilic design, the building creates a ‘green heart’ which purifies the air and creates an uplifting mood for occupiers.

The development has over 3,200 plants, including 90 NASA-approved species, outside terraces and allotments to grow your own fruit and veg will play a significant role in helping occupiers access greenery and its therapeutic benefits, enjoy breaks outside, and improve indoor air quality. The inclusion of a wormery(!) will process food waste from the building into high-quality compost, to be used to grow the fruits and vegetables.
