Stirling Health and Care Village has been selected as a finalist for the 2021 Scottish Property Awards!
This development, delivered by hub East Central Scotland for NHS Forth Valley, consolidates and enhances local healthcare services on the existing 22-acre Stirling Community Hospital site (former Stirling Royal Infirmary).
The vision of the many stakeholders including NHS Forth Valley, Stirling Council and the Scottish Ambulance Service was to work together to provide an integrated health and social care service through co-location and collaboration.
With the core of the original Community Hospital retained and operational throughout the re-development, the project was programmed and delivered in three phases.
The first phase, a new-build Primary and Urgent Care Hub, incorporated a GP & Minor Injuries Centre, comprising 4 GP practices, X-ray, Ultrasound, Minor Injuries, Out of Hours services and a Scottish Ambulance Service base.
The second phase, a Care Hub (The Bellfield Centre), included 116 single bedrooms for Intermediate Care, Palliative Care, Long Term Residential Care and Assessment.
The final phases of decant, demolition, site wide landscaping and a new build Scottish Ambulance Service vehicle workshop, were completed in 2020.
