jmarchitects are very excited to announce that construction is underway for our upcoming residential scheme at Powell Road, constructed by Kind Builders for Peabody in London.
This project has seen the demolition of an existing building and the works on site are picking up pace with a big part of the groundworks now finished. The basement excavation is now almost completed with the cap beams and the secant pile walls in place and the different pile caps are starting to be built.
This building, on a pleasant street in Hackney (East London), will have twenty-one flats over four floors and a commercial space arranged which will occupy part of the basement, part of the ground floor and part of the first floor. The flats will sit on the ground, first, second and third floors. The total site development area is 865 m2.
The building owner is a housing association with sixteen of the flats rented, and the remaining five as shared ownership. Two of the ground floor flats will be for M4(3) occupation.
Contract completion is programmed for the summer of next year.
