jmarchitects have submitted proposals for a state of the art conditioning suite, gym and specialist human performance facility – adjacent to existing sports facilities at Lancaster University.
The new facility will be a key gateway building upon arrival to the main campus and will accommodate university sporting events and regular use by the local community. The site is set within expansive green amenity space and close to existing sports pitches.
The form reflects the functional and spatial requirements of the accommodation, maintaining and respecting the clean lines of the existing sports centre and external materials have been selected to provide a strong and vibrant approach to the building fabric.
Design Stage 4 is now commencing with the team working to achieve a BREEAM Excellent certification.
