We couldn’t have picked a better day to announce the next event celebrating our anniversary than World Architecture Day!
They say time flies when you are having fun and fun is certainly part of the professional service we have been providing for 60 YEARS this year!!! Yes, you read correctly, 2022 is the year we celebrate 60 years since our practice was established, originally called Percy Johnson-Marshall and Partners.
It’s a double Anniversary too – our current practice jmarchitects was established 20 years ago. To celebrate these milestones, we will be sharing our history and our future projects with the 20|60 Exhibition! The exhibition was launched in Edinburgh, is currently in London and will be coming to Manchester on the 20th October.
Johnson-Marshall’s private practice (PJMP) was formed in 1962 from the planning section of Robert Matthew’s Edinburgh office. jmarchitects (rebranded from PJMP in 2002) builds upon the heritage left by PJMP working across several sectors throughout the UK. Our work is based on the principles highlighted by our original founder ‘that the most important thing about a city or town is the people.” – Percy Johnson-Marshall, Rebuilding Cities from Medieval to Modern Times
Once the exhibition leaves Manchester it will travel and close in Glasgow later in the year. We are looking forward to marking these significant milestones with you and will continue to update you all as the celebrations continue their tour of the country!
