The structural frame on the Octagon Theatre redevelopment nears completion following months of co-ordination between jmarchitects, Renaissance Structural engineers and the steel frame sub-contractor Evadx. The new steels tie into the existing concrete structure to the front of the building, whilst to the rear the new structure encapsulates the existing brick auditorium constructed in 1967.
The Willmott Dixon redevelopment will include a new studio theatre and rehearsal room along with new back of house facilities. A new café, bar and event space will occupy the front of the building on Howell Croft South offering views out over Le Mans Crescent and the historical centre of Bolton.
