Our brief for this project entailed examining the condition of the existing shops and shop fronts in Crosby village centre and establish a strategy of modernising the units, by creating larger lettable sizes and more cohesive shopfronts within architecturally unified facades.
St. Modwen Ltd
The aim of the initiative to create a more defined cohesive commercial centre and a more pleasant shopping experience, with clear, visible and welcoming new shopfronts within well-considered facades. We studied the various architectural styles and vintages present in Crosby’s main shopping street in order to get a full understanding of Crosby’s unique sense of place.
We then created a template of styles, colours and materials from which to draw upon to inform the concept of the 10 Moor Lane new store. Drawing from the Art Deco lines, bold patterns, and monochromatic colour our proposal complements the Glenn Buildings with a new crisp modern form, creating a much sought after large commercial unit currently not available in the vicinity.
