We are absolutely thrilled to announce that our project The Linen Quarter, Pilmuir Works was honoured with an award at last night’s Scottish Property Awards!

The Linen Quarter, Pilmuir Works was presented with the ‘Regeneration Project of the Year’ Award. The category A listed building housing the previous linen factory offices was retained and converted to provide new one and two bed apartments, with the existing stone facades retained with the fabric upgraded to meet current standards, and a new roof installed.

Key historical buildings and features of Pilmuir Works are preserved retaining its historical identity. These included the Octagonal polychromatic brick Chimney, Engine and Boiler Houses, Italianate street frontage and buildings along Pilmuir Street and gable ends to Winterthur Lane and Foundry Street, and the curved stone 2-storey façade facing Winterthur Lane which defined the edge of the train tracks that served the factory as well as a number of other buildings and features.

“We are delighted to have had our work recognised in the Scottish Property Awards 2024. The awards have allowed us to celebrate the diversity of our clients and projects that consciously contribute to the culture and regeneration of the communities in which we practice. This variety has seen us intervene in adapt and convert an old works building into a community of dwellings that are enhanced by and preserve the industrial heritage of a town.”
