We are enormously proud to have been named as this year’s Executive Architect of the Year for our collaboration with Steven Holl Architects at Maggie’s Barts in London.
At Maggie’s we were able to build on our earlier experience of working with SHA on the Reid Building at the Glasgow School of Art, which won the AJ100 Building of the Year award in 2014.
The judges commented that, on a highly sensitive project, we had worked hard to protect key elements of the design whilst also achieving some necessary cost savings, given the relatively modest budget. And that we fully understood the concept behind the design, giving delivery and the vital choice of contractor and subcontractors the most scrupulous thought.
As one judge remarked: ‘jm demonstrated real passion and understanding to ensure the very best possible results.’
The AJ100 is a ranking of the largest architectural practices in the UK, measured by the number of qualified architects employed. this year jmarchitects were ranked 34th largest architecture practice in the UK.
